Coleridge Primary Selected as Early Adopter for DfE’s Free Breakfast Club Pilot

Coleridge Primary School is thrilled to be selected as an Early Adopter school for the Department for Education’s (DfE) Breakfast Club pilot. As part of the government’s Plan for Change, the school will be among the first 750 in England to offer free, daily breakfast clubs from April. This initiative aims to support working families by saving them up to £450 per year while ensuring children start the day ready to learn. The programme will also provide at least 30 minutes of free childcare every morning, helping parents balance work and family life.
Rotherham MP Sarah Champion welcomed the news, stating, “I am delighted that Coleridge Primary School has been selected as one of the first schools to benefit from Labour’s free breakfast clubs. It’s a testament to the school’s dedication to getting children school-ready, improving their attendance, attainment, and wellbeing, while also easing financial pressures on local families.”
Coleridge Primary is proud to help shape this landmark policy and looks forward to seeing the positive impact on its pupils and the wider community.
